In short

ShareStage does not collect any personal data. The app runs entirely on your Mac. There are no user accounts, no cloud, no analytics or tracking tools, no ads and no network connections made by the app.

Screen recording

To mirror windows on the stage, ShareStage asks for the macOS “Screen & System Audio Recording” permission. ShareStage only captures the windows you add to the stage yourself with a hotkey or button. The images are displayed in memory only and are never stored, recorded or transmitted. No audio is captured. You can revoke the permission at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security.

Locally stored settings

ShareStage stores your settings (layout, hotkeys, background, aspect ratio, frame rate) in the macOS user defaults inside the app's protected sandbox container on your Mac. If you choose a custom background image, the app keeps a copy of it in the same container. This data never leaves your Mac and is removed when you delete the app.

Purchases

“ShareStage Pro” is purchased entirely through Apple's App Store. We receive no payment or account data. The app only asks Apple whether a purchase exists for your Apple ID. Apple's Privacy Policy applies.

Crash reports

ShareStage contains no crash reporting or analytics tools of its own. If you have enabled sharing analytics with app developers in macOS, Apple provides us with anonymized crash reports. You control this in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

This website

These pages are served by techmanufaktur's TM-Share platform. When you visit, the server processes technically necessary connection data (e.g. IP address, time, requested page) to deliver the pages and keep them secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No analytics or advertising cookies are set and no third-party content is loaded.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Since the app collects no personal data, we usually hold no data about you. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
